Avenir were delighted to be invited to create new logo, brand and web site for Carrowholly Cheese. While the unique and handmade product fit the classic bill of a “Farmhouse” brand, our client was interested in something a little more unique, which would look distinctive on the shelves and elsewhere.
About the project
We began a process of exploring the unique qualities of the cheese starting with its interesting shape and colour but also including its use of local ingredients and its relationship to the very specific landscape of Clew Bay in Westport, Co. Mayo. We created a range of hand-drawn illustrations which were then digitised and simplified.These eventually yielded the logomark which depicts a stylised image of Croagh Patrick, the fields below flowing down to the sea. The final options were combined with a turquoise which was particularly complimentary to the wax finish of the cheese Look out for Carrowholly Cheese’s distinctive new brand at delis and restaurants near you.
